The Role

As an Application Support Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in delivering an outstanding customer experience by ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of business-critical software applications. Acting as a technical escalation point, you will support clients, troubleshoot complex issues, and work closely with development, service delivery, and customer operations teams to ensure seamless application performance in a fast-paced SaaS environment.

 

Application Support Engineer – Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver prompt and effective technical support to customers via phone, email, and ticketing systems
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application issues, identifying root causes to minimise downtime
  • Maintain a strong understanding of application functionality, architecture, and integration points
  • Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Escalate and prioritise bugs, incidents, and enhancement requests in collaboration with development teams
  • Run SQL queries to investigate issues and support data-driven decision making
  • Provide guidance and training to customers to help them maximise value from the software

 

Application Support Engineer – Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in an Application Support or Technical Support role
  • Working knowledge of MS SQL databases and ability to run investigative queries
  • Familiarity with incident management tools, ticketing systems, and SLA-driven environments
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices
  • ITIL certification or working knowledge (desirable)
